Posture & Movement Observation
An educational self-observation. You'll notice some common characteristics of how you stand and move, and learn what those observations can — and cannot — tell you. It's not a diagnosis, and nothing here prescribes exercises or treatment.
Before you start
- You'll need a mirror, or a phone camera / timer photo. Each section tells you how to set up.
- Observation is not diagnosis. A visual difference doesn't automatically mean a muscle is weak, tight, or that something is wrong.
- Anatomy, habits, mobility, strength, previous injury, fatigue, what you were doing beforehand, and simply how you happen to be standing can all affect what you see.
- Every observation lets you answer “I don't notice this” or “Not sure.” You're never pushed to find a problem.
- Stop and skip any part that hurts or doesn't feel right.
